Neuro Doc 2020 (神经科医生2020)
As someone who treats treatment-resistant depression daily, this is huge. Ketamine clinics are already a thing, but access is severely limited and cost-prohibitive. Nitrous oxide is cheaper, widely available, and easier to administer. If we can standardize dosing, this could democratize rapid-acting antidepressants.

Anxious in Aldershot (阿尔德肖特的焦虑者)
I've tried three SSRIs. All gave me side effects and zero mood lift. If laughing gas can help even for a week, it’s worth exploring. I'd take temporary relief over nothing any day.

Skeptical Scientist (理性怀疑者)
Meta-analysis of 7 trials? That’s not ‘massive’, that’s underpowered. And symptom measurement varied wildly between studies. This is promising, sure, but calling it a ‘crack in the door’ is jumping the gun when long-term data is nonexistent.

Underpowered? Yes. But in psychiatry, even 7 RCTs on a novel intervention is rare. We work with weak data all the time—SSRIs aren’t exactly backed by overwhelming evidence either.

Public Health Advocate (公共卫生倡导者)
Let’s not forget: this trial focuses on superdiverse and deprived communities. That’s huge for equity. Most mental health innovation serves the wealthy. This could finally bring cutting-edge care to those who need it most.

SideEffect Survivor (副作用幸存者)
Nausea and dizziness? Sign me up. I’ll trade that for a week without suicidal thoughts any time. Mental health treatment shouldn’t be a choice between misery and weird side effects.

Pharma Insider (药企内部人士)
Nitrous oxide can’t be patented. That’s why you’ll never see Big Pharma funding large-scale trials. The real innovation here isn’t medical—it’s finding a way to deliver non-patentable treatments through public health systems.
